Someone posted a link a while ago to a list of all the baby names registered last year.

Could someone give me the link again please.

Thanks Mrs Woolf, but doee that link just give the Top 100?

The link I was after gave all the names registered, including one girl named Peppa. I kid you not.

Are the 2009 names available now?

I googled ONS to find the 2008 list. They've got all the names that have been used for 3 children or more.

Love the fact that Whitney, Joyce and Hayden (for girls) are equally popular with 37 each!

BessieBoots · 16/04/2010 20:44

263 Kevins!

Ineedsomesleep · 17/04/2010 20:26

That is alot of Kevins. Has anyone met a baby Kevin?

Number 318 on the girls list...149 people called their little girl Wiktoria

notso · 18/04/2010 00:10

Thats Polish for Victoria ongobongo

juneybean · 18/04/2010 00:18

Think it's Polish ongobongo.

Ineedsomesleep · 18/04/2010 10:56

It is Polish, think that Oliwer is too.

I know of somebody who has a Kevin but she is american.

Magaly · 18/04/2010 11:14

That sounds awful. I don't mean, she's american so that explains everything. I think it sounds less jaded over there. Like a refreshing underused classic saints name (trying to imagine HOW she chose it!)

bellissima · 18/04/2010 11:39

Well aren't there several American actors named Kevin? And no one particularly goes ugh Kevin when they see them in a movie. Have an old school friend Kyle, another name I have seen as - the dread 'ch' word - on here, and he now lives on the west coast of the States where I bet the name is fine (and I'm just jealous!).

MamaLazarou · 18/04/2010 11:42

2008 was not last year!

Ineedsomesleep · 18/04/2010 17:11

Yes thanks Mama, I am aware that 2008 wasn't last year. Which is quite an achievement for me as I am over 40 and have 2 young children and a liking for wine.

The lists for 2009 haven't been released yet as far as I am aware.

Just noticed that 65 people also named their daughter Pheobe!! Unbelievable. Phoebe is beautiful but 'Fee obe' - is really something else

spiderlight · 19/04/2010 21:57

Are the 2007 stats still online anywhere?

BlairsBabe · 19/04/2010 22:08

I looked at this list a few months ago when trying (desperately) to find a name for potential DD. Fortunately had a DD. Anyway, I remember chucking heartily at the three Hermoine's [sic] and several other obvious spelling errors. Wondered whether the mistakes were made by the parents or by the registrars.

BlairsBabe · 19/04/2010 22:09

chucking should = chuckling.

That'll teach me to be all judgy-pants,

dolphin13 · 19/04/2010 23:29

Is the 2007 list anywhere. I would love to see where dds name comes.

APassionateWoman · 20/04/2010 14:04

I know two little Kevins and they are both Polish. Maybe the influx of Poles to the UK has affected baby name trends? interesting.

Why are names like Madison and Courtney so popular? Vile.
