Either the spelling or the sound.
If that makes sense...

Eg:
Georgia
Thea

Thanks so much! There are some great suggestions here...now to convince DP...

LaRagazza - I love some of your Italian name suggestions!

Right, off to ponder boys names - and probably post another request for help!!

Have actually been pondering these names a bit more rather than boys names for now...

I love Aurelia, but just know I will never convince DP of it.

My current shortlist that I think DP may consider is:

Georgia (I know he likes this already)
Thea (my favourite...this week...I'm so wishy-washy these days - I blame the hormones!!)
Lucia - but only in the Italian pronunciation where the c = ch. I don't like the shortened Lucy though so am really not sure about it...
And I've just come across Linnea. It's popular in Sweden and pronounced li-NAY-a (any swedish mums are welcome to correct me!!

Any thoughts?
Additions?

Ooh Malia....I think I like it...

Emilia is very pretty, but the shortened version is too similar to my own name & I don't want people thinking I named my daughter after myself!!

In italy, the name Asia is pronounced a-zee-ah rather than ay-jah like the continent, and i knew a Hungarian girl called Asia who pronounced it 'asha' which i rather liked.

mathanxiety · 17/04/2010 18:15
