My Mum HATES it and says it's really American-I love it - another problem is someone I kno win my village just called her new baby girl Willow-Ahhhhhhhh what are the chances?! I also like Willa-Rose or is that too much like a question e.g. Will a rose .......?

it sounds like a dungaree-wearing redneck kind of name to me

i think i came across it in a stephen king short story

I think Wilma and Flintstones.

(Like Fred and Barney though!)

As in Willa Jean in the (American) Ramona Quimby children's books? Love the books still and like the name Ramona but not sure about Willa - sorry.

I really like it - there's a woman at work called Willa and she's very nice, a total individual in a really good, interesting way.

It would be on my list but is to close to ex's name for me to use without feeling even my own eyebrows waggling.

Willa sucks sorry!

mathanxiety · 12/04/2010 17:01

Meryl Streep's daughter is Mary Willa.

Rockbird · 12/04/2010 19:08

Jamie Lee Curtis in Fierce Creatures is what I think. Hmm, undecided if I like it or not. It's certainly different.

AllieW · 12/04/2010 19:35

Not at all keen, sorry.

I love it, but then 'My Antonia' by Willa Cather is one of my favourite books.

I think Willa Rose is too question-like and probably setting up for teasing.

belgo · 13/04/2010 13:42

I like Willa and Willow.

5DollarShake · 13/04/2010 14:12

If you love it, go for it - but to me, Willa sounds like someone starting to say something and then getting bored half way through and giving up.

honeymoonmum · 13/04/2010 15:55

Oh dear that didn't go down well!!!! Unless you are all my mum logged on in different names it seems Willa is very unpopular-

I think it's sooo pretty and if you can call a boy Will and not worry about Willy nickname then can't see why a girl who does not even have one would be called Willy!!!

I did ask!

Honeymoonmum I agree with you, it's a simple, pretty and unusual name, and easy to pronounce. Go for it.

mathanxiety · 13/04/2010 18:44

I like it a lot.

destructogirl · 13/04/2010 21:38

I like it
When I was little my favourite cartoon was Thundercats. Had a character called Willa.
Willa the Warrior Maiden.

chaya5738 · 15/04/2010 20:25

I absolutely LOVE it

FrazzleRock · 15/04/2010 20:27
