A nice, uncommon name to go with..

I'm looking for nice baby names (aren't we all) to go with my newly married name of Butt. I work with children so have all the preconceptions about certain names, so would like the name to be uncommon, yet not chavvy. Any suggestions greatly recieved.I do have a few names I like at the moment but keeping them under wraps as all of my friends seem to be pregnant too, yet due after me so no chance of them stealing unless they come early.

Seymore?

Sorry

LOL at Seymour!

I think with a short name like BUTT you need something longer like

Gabriella

Zachary

Sebastian

Francesca

You know, you don't have to change your name when you get married....

Sorry, I'll be sensible now. Difficult to suggest without knowing your taste, but I agree with collision - longer names would go well.
I'd go for somthing like Jonathon and Louisa.

Ophelia...
Seriously, how about Gregory, Alexander, Marcus,Jessica, Elspeth or Jennifer ?

No name ending in YA or IA or A, or even ER if the R is not rolled as in Irish English

19th C Irish Home Rule MP was named Isaac Butt.

lilysmummy2007 · 03/04/2010 04:21

lol @ Seymore!!

lilysmummy2007 · 03/04/2010 04:25

maybe you could double barrel it and put your name in frot so the name wont have to really go with Butt. I cant get Seymore out of my head so cant give a decent suggestion. Found this though

have a look

Araminta?
However, if your surname starts with the early letter in the alphabet, maybe you could have the first name beginning with the letter/s from the end part of the alphabet, so s/he will not always be firts or last, eg William, Zac/k, Zachary

Magaly · 05/04/2010 14:41

That is awful.... sorry! do you have to take that name? What is your sur name? If you are a Wilson for example, Butt Wilson might detract from the Butt.

Isaac Butt had his own verb, Buttressing. It means to talk drivel endlessly in parliament to prevent anything important or necessary being discussed and agreed..

Sorry - can't think of anything sensible.
