We love it but my mother in law seemed a bit sniffy about it.

and there in lies the reason NEVER to discuss names with friends/family until after baby arrives and they have to be polite and accepting - well most do, my mother never did

I prefer genevieve but both nice

I also prefer Genevieve but if you love it, then go for it. (Unless of course you already have an Arthur, in which case that might be a bit odd.)

minko · 02/04/2010 11:16

How about guinepig?

AllieW · 02/04/2010 11:19

Er, it's pronounced Gwinevere not Guinea vere, but nice try.

ChippingIn · 02/04/2010 12:59

I don't like it - but she's not going to be my daughter - nor your MIL's... if you like it, then choose it. Your MIL had her turn, now it's your turn!

Collision · 02/04/2010 13:00

and she will be the only one in school!

Not keen myself and deffo dont like Gwinnie for short!

bronze · 02/04/2010 13:01

I like it but would have to avoid people calling her Guin for short as it could cause confusion Gywn being a male name

KittyTwoShoes · 02/04/2010 17:25

I think it's very pretty, as are Genevieve and also Gwendolyn.

MsMarple · 03/04/2010 00:10

Genevieve is nicer then Guinevere I think, but then I can't disassociate a name from the famous character who has it.

So in my head a Guinevere would be bound to have a doomed love affair with her husband's best friend thus disrupting the peace of all Camelot... or something...

boodleboot · 03/04/2010 10:39

LOVELOVELOVELOVE it....

gemcgem · 04/04/2010 20:04

jurisfictionoperative · 06/04/2010 03:59
