What do you think of Saskia as a girl's name? It's listed on Mumsnet's Baby Name Finder.

I said it was a lovely name actually.

Is common the same as chavvy? It's certainly common as in 'heard rather too often'. Rather a shame, really.

Saskia is on my list, I like it.

To put a few people straight Saskia frm BB is not at all chavvy & lotster she certainly is not a brass. How do i know this because she is a friend of my husbands & has been for many yrs & the person who said she was racist what aload of crap. Regardless of the way she came across on BB you people do not know her so you shouldnt be so judgemental.

Saskia from BB for me too - I will always remember uber-posh Derek's comment about her when she was screeching at someone (littlemissm - all we can go on when watching that shower of exhibitionists is what we see on camera! ): she's like a half-trained polecat up an East End alley.

Put me off the name, but there will be loads of people who don't have that association.

Saskia is a lovely name. It is my niece's middle name, named after the nurse in Hamburg who delivered her after a very, long and difficult labour for my sil.

I like it. It's pretty but girly or weak. It's unusual but heard of and people know how to spell it. could be sasha as a nick name which is nice too.

It's lovely. BB didn't occur to me - but even if it had, who is going to remember Saskia From Big Brother in ten (or five for that matter) years?

It is a horrible word anyway. And one too easy to fall into the trap of using. Actually the fact that she was a racist was the issue, not whether she was from Essex, or whatever.

I've no idea which bb "saskia from bb" is from, but the viewing figures had fallen to a very low figure last year, so it's not an automatic link.

I wouldn't have thought of the BB link, but then I don't watch it.
