Please please help me- I am totally stuck on girls names and cant seem to shorten this list! My Surname is Shailes, and I seem to like both traditional/old lady chic names and also more modern ones. Which do you love/hate/like and dislike and why?

Rosalie is my favourite in your list, and Rosa is a pretty nn.

I love Amelie and Jessica
they're pretty, classic and flow nicely with your surname.
I hate Darcy and Harper because, well sorry I just hate them.

Jessica Shailes - Jessica is fine, but not sure if too many sss sounds, esp if nn is Jess.

Evelyn Shailes - I prefer Eve or Evie

Elodie and Eden gets my votes both beautiful and not masively common names

Harper Lee wrote To Kill A MockingBird . Her name was Nelle Harper Lee . There's a bit of a trend for her characters at the moment Atticus,Scout,Dill . Her name was a family name,but I think it works as a modern classic.Yes I love it and would consider it for future girls .Staggering list ,some great names

I am more stuck though now, as partner doesnt like Meredith but we decided on Henry for boy and other girl names I like have the same 'e' sound to them- Phoebe and Elodie. Can we really have rhyming sibling names? that bothers me a bit..
I really wanted Meredith, nn Merrie. But i guess even that rhymes with Henry..!

Do you like Henry and Phoebe are too similar sounding? Theres not many girls names i am in love with to the same extent..

Other boy options are Jonathan, Zachary and Benjamin xx

I have an Eden, so obviously I love that name. I think it's beautiful, simple and classic without being common or overused . It was the only girl's name we had on the table when I was pregnant with her.

I also like Dorothy, Elodie, Laila and Violet. I think Rosalie is gorgeous, but there might be quite a few little Rosalies in the offing (the Twilight effect?)

Don't like Luna or Lorella at all. Darcy and Harper are a bit too American daytime soap opera for my taste.

Out of them all I think Elodie goes really well.

elodie is my fav on your lit, a classic french first name that is underused I also think as someone else did that it is nice with your surname

Really love Leila/Laila or Rosalie (poss Rosie for short)
