for a boy, what do you think?

It's Old English and means 'fenced meadow'

Really starting to like it.

How about Arden? or Ardal? Similar but not quite so Christmas for Auntie Vera.

5DollarShake · 24/03/2010 17:39

Grannies, lavender and tweed for me, too.

Persevere with it, if you must - but it'll be your son who's taken the piss out of for your choice.

Hullygully · 24/03/2010 17:39

Have you considered Lynx? It's a bit more modern and slightly less floral.

notsoteenagemum · 24/03/2010 17:40

I think he would be a Gentleman thief.

I don't like it why would you want to be named after a field?

Hullygully · 24/03/2010 17:44

Old Spice?

Pancakeflipper · 24/03/2010 17:47

Tweed ?

ChickensHaveSinisterMotives · 24/03/2010 17:47

Now that is a nice name: Deodorant Root.

More for a girl though.

seeker · 24/03/2010 17:56

Coty?

Or how about Bronely?

AllieW · 24/03/2010 18:24

Yardleys is a boy's private school in Tonbridge, so I tend to think of that. I think a certain type of lad could probably carry it off. After all, how many toddlers/small children do you know who are conversant with brand names of older ladies' perfumes?

You all think you're so funny

But not horribly, Chyna - these things just take on a life of their own and wander far away from the OP.

I have to say Auntie Perspirant is quite brilliant.

I've heard worse, for sure Chynadoll.

Soundwise it is Ok, but seriously, nearly EVERYONE you meet of our generation will associate it with soap. Can you live with the comments is more the question.

thesecondcoming, I explained at some point (maybe not on that thread) that DP is a pan-Africanist, and is descended from enslaved West African people. Obviously he doesn't know exactly which country he is originally from. Ghana is a good guess.

OP, if you're already irritated by the comments on this thread then seriously, imagine a lifetime of it.

The stuff's still on sale so it's not even like when us oldies die off it will be forgotten.

Sadly, when you google it the first thing that comes up is a website called cheapsmells.com
