For a boy? DH loves it, any opinions, not sure if it's a bit girly myself?

It sounds like a merge between cull and gulley

I'm not sure at this point

I agree sausage, can't put my finger on why, I just don't really like it...
Tis the name of the daughter in Midsomer murders which also makes me think it's too girly

Know a man named Cullen who is often known as Culley - seems to suit him, maybe this is an option.

roquefort cullen seems a bit more manly, then could have culley for short, would feel more happy with that maybe

Sounds like collie. Or curly. There's something just a bit not right about it.

sounds like a made up name

I don't like this, sorry. And Cullen sounds like you've been inspired by Twilight. Feel free to totally ignore me though!

Add an S at the front = big blue monster.

I thought culley was an old-fashioned rude word, not really rude but like vagabond or thief or something, maybe regional?

cravingcroissants · 13/03/2010 22:19

Hideous and made up.

dizzydixies · 13/03/2010 22:42

makes me think of Cull and Skink which is a fishy soup - sorry!!

Yes - 'cully' is often used in Victorian crime novels iirc. It's an insult, meaning something like 'fool' I think.

it's not actually made up, it's gaelic, but I have never heard of anyone called it!!

Think will have to try to guide dh away from it, still don't know why, just don't like it for some reason!!

I know a few Aussie men called Cullum, it's quite popular over there.

I think that sounds nicer than Culley.

I don't like the 'cull' association either.
