Would 'Hattie' only come from Harriet?

Love Hattie as a nn. Less keen on Harriet. Are there any other names which would give the nn Hattie?

Henrietta maybe?

I knew a Martha who got nicknamed Mattie. She didn't like that so we changed it to Hattie, which she liked a lot. But over the years we noticed that everyone new assumed her real name was Harriet. She stuck with Hattie, though.

Ugggh. Sounds like some dotty old lady, all three of these names.

Henrietta/Henriette

Charlotte - shortened to hattie or lottie

Hester - or is that just Hetty?

Actually there's probably precedent for it being short for Margaret. If Peggy can be, why not Hattie?

I love the name Hattie too but like you I wasn't so keen on Harriet - if you like Hattie and this is the name you intend to mostly call her then I would just go with Hattie, its a lovely name!
