For a boy, or did you guess that?

What do you all think of this one? and which spelling? Ailbe is the Irish spelling.

Last name, Whelan.

Thanks

The only Ailbe that I know is a girl.

I prefer Ailbe, but it's a totally different pronunciation to Albie and Alby.

It's a unisex name as far as I know.

I prefer Albie to Alby if you were going for a nn to Albert.

I know of a girl called Ailbhe, but that's it. Ailbe is an Irish boys name though.

albie is a dragon (flight of the concords)song my kids keep singing.

Actually-thinking about it-the girl I know is Ailbhe.(I always have to look up the spelling).

Ailbe is an Irish boy's name, pronounced AIL-bee usually. Ailbhe (girl's name) is pronounced AL-va. It would be a pita to have to pronounce it all the time. There are other Irish names for boys that are pronounced as they are spelled and might make life a bit easier?

Possible playground taunt of "I'll be wheeling"?
