CS on Fri. If a boy-John Denny, but if a girl, what do you think:

Sarah Elizabeth Denny
Elizabeth Sarah Denny
Annie Elizabeth Denny

I already have a dd-Eloise Frances Denny.

Hi, I would have to agree with you that Elizabeth is too similar to Eloise. You could go for a longer version of Annie as suggested above. Or Sarah sounds good too. Or how about: Rachel, Rebecca, Naomi, Ruth, Leah- all similarly biblical. Or other classics like Rose, Laura, Grace? All go well with your dd's name IMO. Wouldn't worry too much about your Mum- plus you could use her name as the mn? Good luck!

I have an Eloise, and also liked Elizabeth (Libby) for DD2 - but in the end, decided that they were just too similar.

As a PP suggested, we also considered Annabel, shortened to either Annie or Anna, but it didn't go with our surname.

In the end, we went with Katherine (Kitty).

Of your choices, I would say not Elizabeth (although I adore it as a name), I would say Annabel / Annie first and then Sarah.

Sarah is nice, just there's a bit too many of them - my generation I know, but the over popularity makes it a bit meh, iyswim.

With the MIL thing - My MIL has a name very similar to DD2, but we didn't name DD2 after her at all. So, we gave my DD2 a middle name that is very similar to my mum's name and told her that the name was not chosen to be like MILs name, but because it ended up that way, we made sure the middle name reflected hers and that was a deliberate choice... She liked that

Sarah or Anna

TBH I think Eloise is a lovely name, and Sarah sounds very plain indeed by comparison.

Elizabeth is lovely. I've always liked the name because you have so many nick names to choose from. I really wouldn't worry about it being a bit similar to Elosie as you can always call her a NN which sounds different anyway. (Eloise and Lizzie / Beth / Liza etc)

I haven't met an Annie for ages, could be a good choice. I would be tempted to go for a longer version.
