Hi all
I am expecting no.3 and love to have names sorted early as I feel it helps with the bonding process.
We are pretty much agreed on a boys name: Quinn Michael
But we have opposite tastes in girls names so far the only ones we can agree on are:
Eliza Jane
Penny
Ella Katherine (Ella is my sisters name so DH not too sure but apart from loving her to bits I also just love the name?)

Opinions appreciated!

I love Quinn!

Of your girls's names, I like Eliza and Penny (Penelope), but am less keen on Ella, mainly because it is so popular/commmon at the moment.

shoobidoo · 24/01/2010 14:56

All nice choices, but I particularly like Eliza - very feminine and pretty and not that widespread atm.

Wolfblass · 24/01/2010 15:15

Eliza definately.

I love Ella, but it is very popular.

Nelvana · 24/01/2010 15:17

Quinn would be a nice girl's name too, I think

Wolfblass · 24/01/2010 15:25

Nevlana i agree

How about Quinnie?

annasophia · 24/01/2010 17:02

Quinn is definately a boys' name. It is a great alternative to Finn imo.

I like Eliza most of your girls' names.

Barbarellas · 24/01/2010 19:18

Quinn is just another one from the surname trend. Finn is much nicer!

I like all your girls names. Would you use Penelope with the nickname Penny? If so then that's my fave!

butadream · 24/01/2010 19:28

Love Eliza Jane

loobylu3 · 24/01/2010 19:31

Eliza is lovely.
Penny only if a nn for Penelope (which I love).
Ella- okay.

Quinn is a bit trendy for my taste but not bad as surnames go.

cityangel · 24/01/2010 20:16

What about Elin?

MammyG · 24/01/2010 20:35

Barbarellas - Would def only use Penny if it was nn for Penelope think it is nice to have the option.

I know the surname trend thing is in now but rather oddly have had a top 5 boys names for years so keep pulling from them. When had last 2 boys their names exploded in popularity about 6 mths to a year after I named them so for the most part I just dont think about trends as too hard to pre-empt them. Plus where i live is v rural and will not be common - in fact most people will prob turn their noses up but what can you do!

Thanks guys feedback v appreciated.

Eliza - I love it.
Penny - Cute, but should be short for Penelope imo.
Ella - ok, just a little too popular for me.

Really like Quinn Michael, possibly because there's a gorgeous 3 year old Quinn at my ds's nursery.

Nelvana · 25/01/2010 08:49

Quinn is not 'definitely a boy's name', annasophia, its a surname that can be either was my point

Think its got a lovely ring for a girl, a bit like Ann or Lynn, simple and elegant.

(Like Eliza too though ;)

annasophia · 25/01/2010 10:46

Nelvana, what I meant was that in my opinion, Quinn sounds very masculine and all the children I know called this are boys.

But, you are right, a girl could in theory be called Quinn.

mathanxiety · 25/01/2010 22:28

Wasn't John Edwards' secret daughter's name Quinn? Or Frances Quinn Hunter, referred to by him in his recent paternity admission as Quinn? I think Quinn is used more for girls than boys these days in the US. Not bad as a boy's name...

Of the girls' names, I love Eliza Jane.

AngryPixie · 25/01/2010 22:44

dc would have been Eliza but it just didn't suit him!

Love it

Nelvana · 26/01/2010 08:10

angrypixie

mathanxiety yes I'm canadian so it being a girl's name must be a north american thing
