I know one and it's a lovely name. Really fun but you can imagine them being a brain surgeon as well.

'And now Blue Peter presented by Josie Cheekster'

'The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Josie Cheekster, said'

'On being arrested for a multi million poun d fraud Josie Cheekster was reported to have said'

Yep - works well whatever.

Very nice nn for Josephine or possibly Jocelyn, I'm not keen on it as a stand alone name (but I am a formal sort of person, so I really only like full forms for BCs, regardless of what the child might be called in practice).

frakkinaround · 19/01/2010 07:04

Nice nn, wouldn't have it as a stand-alone.

MamaLazarou · 19/01/2010 09:02

Yes.

SqueezyB · 19/01/2010 09:03

It's on our list! Would probably give Josephine as full name.

hattee · 19/01/2010 09:09

love it. Its on my list if I ever have a DD, as a nn for Josephine

zozzle · 19/01/2010 09:30

LetThereBeRock · 20/01/2010 23:43

Like it as a babyish nn but not as a full/formal name.

NL's examples, apart from the Blue Peter one, make me go "ewwww". Not a good grown up name at all.

Sunshinemummy · 21/01/2010 10:40

I like it.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 21/01/2010 13:58

Like it, but I would use Josephine as the given name

(I have a bit of a thing about most names ending in "ie" though - cute for a baby/child, potentially twee for an adult)
