I know one and he is lovely - I thought maybe for my no.2 but had a girl! Also double letters are great - I was an SS before marriage - just think Marilyn, Brigette (sorry can't think of any men!)

oohIsay · 15/01/2010 21:12

I personally dislike the sound. I find it very whiney and can't help but say it in a common sounding whiney voice. Theeeyyooooww.

I prefer Leo but actually like Theodore with the nickname Ted.

Also, all the Theos round here are Feeows

PurpleEglu · 15/01/2010 21:14

Like it, is nice

fairimum · 15/01/2010 21:15

DS2 (10 weeks old) is Theodore... I love the full name but we do call him Theo mostly. It's a very sweet name I think. One of my friends call him Teddy, which is cute too. A male colleague said 'Theodore sounds like a man you would love to have a drink at the pub with...'

Hulababy · 15/01/2010 21:21

I am not so keen personally.

I don't know any - none in the infant school (270 children) I work at and none in friendship groups.

SpeedyGonzalez · 15/01/2010 21:24

Only acceptable if the full version is Theophilus P Wildebeeste

PanicMode · 15/01/2010 22:21

We have a Theodore - it was unusual when we chose it (over 5 years ago) but it's flying up the rankings (due to Theo Walcott I think). I do love it, but I am sad that it's now popular!

fairimum · 15/01/2010 22:27

I know what you mean, ideally would like something less popular but like the feel of Theo (and Noah but OH hates it!) but can't agree on anything really finding boys names very very hard!

Well I thought my Theo vid was hilarious!

somethinganything · 18/01/2010 22:42

I think it's a sweet name and there are lots of them round these ere parts but in all honesty I've never met a Theo who wasn't rather posh.

PeachesMac · 19/01/2010 09:49

I love it too! We want Theodore for our baby boy due in May. I don't know any around here, but I don't mind if it gets a little popular. Like Helenwombat says, they're popular because they are nice. I like Theo and Teddy as short names, so cute. And I also agree with Somethinganything, I always think of the name Theodore and Theo as quite posh. (But then I don't know any Theos so I've got nothing colouring my view of the name. I've always loved it and will always love it!)
