Hello!

Without giving away the name, although perhaps i'll have to in the end, we're thinking of a girl's name (quite unusual) which ends in -ba, and our surname begins with bar... All along we've joked about names like Barbara and Hepzibah and how funny it would sound, and for some reason it didn't click that this was also in that category because it's such a pretty name.

When her whole name is read out, will people hear "baa, baa [black sheep]"? If it helps, the last syllable of the name is NOT said BAR but ba, though i don't think that makes sense!

Please be honest, but nice!! We're having so much trouble deciding on a g name!

As in Sheba Bartholemew?

Beacuse that sounds OK to me.

oh yes! Similar! I was wracking my brains trying to think of a name or surname to give as an example. Thanks. Ok, everyone else - how does "Sheba Bartholomew" come across?

Thanks Lynette

We almost had this, wanted Arthur for a boy and our surname is Thur
Decided against it in the end, partly because it was clumsy and also because he'd no doubt get people assuimg his initial was 'R'
Think it would be OK in some cases
Anyway, was all academic as DD is called Alice

I would look for something else. It's just another thing that she will throw in your face when she's a teenager!
