Delicia has gone. A case of hopeful (gone mad) pregnancy hormones.
I am pondering Evangeline but I can't stand Evie (sorry to those who are named Evie). Any suggestions for nick names?

Similar suggestions too please. Boys names are so much easier.

Lina? I hate to say there is a good chance she will end up as an Evie at school though.

How about Ava?

If you can't stand Evie it's probably best to steer clear of Evangeline as that's the most obvious nickname.

What about
Madeline
Ottoline
Caroline
if you like -line names.

Vangie. But everyone will probably just call her Eve or Evie.

Jelly!!

It will be Evie I'm sure though

Angie, Lina, Eva?

CuppaTeaJanice · 15/01/2010 14:29

Angel

HerbalHolly · 15/01/2010 16:24

Eva

I would stay away from a name with the possible nickname Vange, personally.

Evie v common nowadays, so if you want to avoid her being called that by 90% of people I wouldn't call her Evangeline.

guitargirl2786 · 15/01/2010 16:50

I would automatically call someone named Evangaline Eva not Evie.

I think it's a lovely name. My friend has never had anyone call her Vange in 24 yrs.

JamesandHisFlamingSword · 15/01/2010 17:42

I like Evangeline - and would choose Eva as a nn

what about

Lydia
Sylvia
Constance (Connie)

My DD is Evangeline. If you do choose it, then start as you mean to go on and insist everyone calls her Evangeline from the start (or the nn of your choice). It's very easy to slip into the habit of calling her Evie (which I do like, but not as much as the actual name I chose). DD is 3 and I will insist when she starts school that she is called by her proper name by her teachers. When she is older, she can choose for herself

Just realised this is a year old. Sorry
