Not sure what I think of it.. dp's grandma keeps saying please call this one Rosie. Would Rosie be the name on the birth certificate? or would Rose be better?? Is Rosie more of a nick name?

(I still want to call her Willow but Dp is in a huff and won't change his mind)

The Rosie I know it is her nickname, but always has been since birth.

I would go for Rose, then as she gets older she can choose.

My niece is called Rosie, thats the name on the birth certificate. She is usually called Rosie Posie though, mind you she is still only 4!

Happypetal · 30/12/2009 13:00

How about Rosemary? - my sister has this name. Can be Rose,Ros,Mary or Rosie - very versatile (sp?!)Good luck - let us know what you go for!

The lovely Rosie I know is actually Rosemary on her birth certificate but has always been a Rosie.

Skegness · 30/12/2009 13:03

I think Rose is lovely. Consigned to a middle name too often, I think. Also really like Rosa and Rosetta.

The Rosie is a fantastic maternity hospital nr here. Willow is lovely. [unhelpful emoticon]

My DD is a Rosy. Her 'long name' is Rosanna, which we thought she could do all kinds of things with when she's older. She's 6 now and I still love both long and short names. However, Willow is gorgeous too and it will be your baby - Willow Rose sounds fab to me

Marne · 30/12/2009 13:14

I like Rose but not Rosie (i would call a child Rose and a dog Rosie). Rosa is also ia nice name as is Willow.

telsa · 30/12/2009 13:15

My niece is called Rosie -her birth certificate name is Rosalind.

MamaLazarou · 30/12/2009 13:35

I know an extremely beautiful, smart, tall, posh and kind Rosie, so it always sounds like a nice name to me. She's just Rosie. I think it's a lovely name in its own right.

brimfull · 30/12/2009 13:37

Rose is much better than Rosie - I am biased though

SplitPea · 30/12/2009 15:25

I much prefer Rosie. I know one and she's beautiful and clever - that's probably why I prefer it so much.

Bessie123 · 30/12/2009 15:28

I think Rosie sounds like a chubby girl, a posh girl or a dog. I prefer Rose. I don't like the name Willow at all.

hohohojollster · 30/12/2009 20:44

really like Rosy... (never thought of spelling it like that... )
Rose ok... Rosa or Rosanna nicer.
Not keen on Willow.
