Simple question really.

Luca or Louis?

Louis is pronounced Louie for those who don't know.

Well, it's a hrd one...but I think Luca.

I like them both but I prefer Luca.

Luca

salvadory · 20/12/2009 10:23

Don't love either of them but Luca is more 'now' if that appeals. I know nice ones of each too.

Squishabelle · 20/12/2009 10:33

Louis - Luca sounds sort of 'unfinished'. Prefer Lucas.

Ondine · 20/12/2009 10:42

Luca. Both are nice but Luca is gorgeous.

sparklyrainbow · 20/12/2009 10:43

Louis- teach a very nice one aged 14 and is more of a classic name than Luca IMO

funkyanna37 · 20/12/2009 10:49

Agree with sparklyrainbows that Louis is more classic - but I tend to always associate names with people I know and it just puts Louis Walsh in my head every time I hear it and I wouldn't want that for a son!
Luca is beautiful - but feels a bit too girly in its italian form - I would go classic english with Luke - or if it really had to be fancy I'd prefer the French Luc

teafortwo · 20/12/2009 10:58

To me both are nice quite posh names.

Louis - Sounds more fun! Louis to me, brings to mind, a boy/man full of life and the soul of the party, a good ol' bloke and probably good at ruggers. He is a warm character!

Luca - sounds serious! To me it paints a picture of someone who is probably into drama, literature and history. More intimate in his relaions with others and deeply kind.

Hope this helps.

Louis definitely, it's a lovely classic name that will never date.

If you have Italian roots can certainly see the charm of Luca. It's very 'now'. If you haven't any Italian connections at all then imo avoid, although that's not a consideration for most ppl who use it.
