Not for twins or even siblings, but I'm dusting off my old shortlist and seriously considering these two.
What do you think? Honest opinions would be helpful.

Yes to Boris.

Not so sure about Prunella, I just think of Fawlty Towers when I hear it. Although Ella would be nice as a shortened version.

Paolosgirl · 18/12/2009 21:42

Boris Karloff/Johnson

Prune or Prunella Scales

Sorry - the word association is not great! I don't like either of them tbh.

partridgepear · 18/12/2009 21:47

Johnson is the only thing puts me off Boris, and that we have no connections to the name's country (ies) of origin.

I think they're both dreadful.

MerryXmasMrsHenry · 18/12/2009 22:05

No, no, no, no, no.

dinoroar · 18/12/2009 22:12

No.

You could just about get away with Boris (though I would end up calling the poor child Bozzer) but Prunella is just weird. And definitely not both together - don't have twins.

TigerDrivesAgain · 18/12/2009 23:22

I think you're just too too posh for MN

or too too bonkers

Rafi · 18/12/2009 23:26

Boris, Johnson - Prunella, Prune. I wouldn't.

oh my gosh no!!! They're both horrible - I'm sorry if you're serious about them, but they're awful.

SmacOnTheLipsUnderTheMistletoe · 19/12/2009 13:53

Neither are to my taste at all but if you like them then use them. You can be sure there won't be lots of them in the class at school if that is important to you.

ToffeeCrumble · 19/12/2009 18:37

Sorry but I laughed when i read those names. I thought it was a joke.

BosomForAPillow · 19/12/2009 18:46

Boris = orange monster in a book called "Calm Down Boris". (There are a few titles with the big orange handpuppet in the middle of the book, they're quite popular and I think children will think of that orange monster when they hear Boris.)

Prunella = prune.

So on balance, I'd say no to both.
