Which of these is the better boys name? I like them all.

Jeremy

pippylongstockings · 17/12/2009 14:00

Jeremy doesn't seem to 'fit' with the other 2 you have gone for.

I like Sonny and Rafi better.

What about Sol or Rafe ?

moffat · 17/12/2009 14:09

Love Rafi

Cortina · 17/12/2009 14:15

To me Rafi (Raphi)? should be short for Raphael but probably me . Like it!

Thissideofchannel · 17/12/2009 14:16

I like Raphael (Rafi) the best, Jeremy a little and Sonny not at all, I'm afraid.

RemyMartin · 17/12/2009 14:19

With his jingling tambourine, Rafi is a star! I'm not mad it's from one of ds's books. Nice name, don't really like the other 2.

Mistletoesnowman · 17/12/2009 14:27

Raffi is an Armenian name. I know a little boy called it and think it's a cool name.

seeker · 17/12/2009 14:27

remeber you are naming a grown up. Would you really want to be a grown up called Sonny? Would you like your staff to call you Sonny? I honestly don't think you would.

BarbieLovesKen · 17/12/2009 14:28

Dont like Jeremy - it seems quite "ordinary" in comparison to the other two?

Rafis ok and I think Sonny is absolutely gorgeous!

moffat · 17/12/2009 14:35

Rafi is also an Arabic name - though obviously not if it's a shortened version of Raphael.

Wattinger · 17/12/2009 14:43

Please not jeremy! It's a middle aged smarmy man's name - think Jeremy Kyle, Jeremy Beadle, Jeremy Paxman. Agree that Sonny might not suit an adult but I think that Rafi is gorgeous for both a baby and an adult.

Mistletoesnowman · 17/12/2009 14:52

It suited Sonny Crocket

LaTurkey · 17/12/2009 14:53

Sonny. I know a Sonny and it's a great name.

bellissima · 17/12/2009 15:16

I know a French-Lebanese Raffi and an English Rafi short for Raphael.

Sonny makes me think of Sonny Bono - not that positive a thought (but RIP all the same!).
Not a Jeremy fan.

Marne · 17/12/2009 15:18

I like Sonny and Raffi, not so sure about Jeremy.

seeker · 17/12/2009 16:33

Why do people like Sonny? I could possibly begin to understand Sunny, in a hippy sort of way, but why Sonny? It's a slightly belittling nickname an adult might use in a patronizing way to a little boy, or a policeman in a old fashioned TV show might use to describe an unknown criminal "Sonny seems to have got in in through the kitchen window and stolen the Teasmade"

crumpet · 17/12/2009 16:36

Sonny is dreadful as a name, but fine as a nickname. Jeremy is quite nice, and Rafi is a bit try hard imo.

birdofthenorth · 17/12/2009 18:23

Sonnny's lovely -my fave from your list- -although my mum's dog is called Sunny -but he's a very handsome dog!

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/12/2009 18:32

Jeremy is a great and underused name. I would use it if dh would agree. In fact I might work on him for this one.

LynetteScavo · 17/12/2009 18:37

I like them all too...but they are all very different.
Rafi makes me think of the american bloke who sings about peanut butter sandwhiches made with jam, so it always brings a smile to my face.

Jeremy was on my boys shortlist, then I met a nob end politician called Jeremy and decided against it. It's a fine name, though.

LynetteScavo · 17/12/2009 18:39

Raffi

LynetteScavo · 17/12/2009 18:41

Jeremy and Tomothy would be brothers

Sonny and Zack would be brothers.

Raffi and Isaac would be brothers.

LynetteScavo · 17/12/2009 18:41

Timothy!

LynetteScavo · 17/12/2009 18:42

Boulders...do you live in London? I'm getting London vibes from your eclectic name choices.

Rafi · 17/12/2009 18:49

Obvious choice here...

Mine's short for Rafaella.

I think Sonny works as a nickname for a small boy but don't really see it for an adult.
