What do you think about

  • Ursula Constance

or

  • Ursula Ivy. (I'm a bit worried about the two names merging into one ...)

Thanks for any assistance you can provide!

Rose?

LilRedWG · 06/11/2009 12:52

Constance is my favourite out of the two.

IMoveTheStarsForNoOne · 06/11/2009 12:55

Mae?

agree Constance works best - am assuming these are grandmothers' names...?

OR Ursula Beth/Nell/Cate?

BaconandEgg · 06/11/2009 14:03

Yep - both family names.

Thanks for all the comments.

Constance is my preference.
Or what about Ursula Elisabeth?

BaconandEgg · 06/11/2009 14:17

I like Elisabeth a lot, but don't you get the same problem as you face with Ivy (i.e. the 2 names merging into one?) Although I guess that people just aren't going to use the entire name in one breath very often ...

I see what you mean but personally don't think it merges as much as some names and with a name ending in 'a', you'd have to avoid any middle names beginning with vowels to avoid merging completely....

persephoneplum · 07/11/2009 10:09

So lovely to see someone using Ursula!

I like Ursula Ivy. It's very spunky

maniacbug · 07/11/2009 10:33

Ooh, Ursula is top of my shortlist! (Unfortunately having trouble persuading dh of its merits...)
Of your 2 options I much prefer the combination Ursula Constance (Constance being top of dh's shortlist!), although I do love the name Ivy.
Other ones on my list are:
Ursula Beatrix
Ursula Mabel
Ursula Joy

MamaLazarou · 07/11/2009 11:22

I like Ursula Ivy, too.

Mae and Rose just sound like obligatory add-ons.

I would either go with a one syllable or a 3 syllable name - sounds more musical. I would also avoid anything ending in a 'ah' sound as I know an Ursula Eleanor and think it sounds horrid!

dah-dah-dah DUM eg. Ursula Jane
dah-dah-dah dah-dah-dah eg. Ursula Harriet

Of those two though I prefer Constance because the C give a good break between the two names.

mathanxiety · 07/11/2009 22:17

Constance.

forehead · 08/11/2009 16:39

ursula Rose

pointydogg · 08/11/2009 16:47

Don't like Ursula Ivy at all, at all.

Ursula Constance is much better. Constance is lovely
