like it. Don't be unique with spelling - he'll be pissed off with having to correct everyone all his life.

jellybeans · 02/11/2009 21:54

I like it but would stick with that spelling as otherwise it would get annoying. Unless you like Zechariah etc to be more adventurous/biblical.

thanks girls x

It's a lovely lovely name. Keep with the given spelling, Zachary is unusual enough already!

sockmonkey · 03/11/2009 09:49

I wanted Zachary for a boy this pregnancy, it's a lovely name. I'm having a girl though. I'll let you use it if you want (fellow due Jan 2010 here)

lilysam · 03/11/2009 18:25

Love it - thats exactly what i'd have...if it wasn;t for dh

curlywurlycremeegg · 03/11/2009 18:36

That is DS1's name, so obviously I am biased

hester · 03/11/2009 18:39

Zackary
Zakkerii
Zacheree

Nope, just stick with Zachary! As it is people will be spelling it Zach, Zac and Zack.

It's a nice name - I know a Zachary James already, may not be as unusual as you think?

jlo1234 · 03/11/2009 18:46

noo i dont want a dead unusual one just not a really over used name i think i will stick with spelling it zachary x

oh thats a lovely name

Valiant1 · 03/11/2009 21:24

my ds1 is a Zakariah James and is Zak for short and nobody ever spells it right but then I have genevieve and an elliot and they are always spelt diffrent so i think it dosent matter

halia · 03/11/2009 22:51

oh that was nearly our choice - I'd stick with Zachery for spelling btw

yayitstheweekend · 30/11/2009 12:39

I am not keen on it as around here it's the most overused name, my DD has 4 Zack / Zac / Zach / Zak's in her class of 15 and there are another 6 in the other 3 groups plus virtually every family I know has a Zachary in some form.

shoobidoo · 30/11/2009 13:01

Not that keen either, I'm afraid. Zach has become very popular in a short space of time (maybe due to HSM?), that I too know several little Zacks. I also find it sounds quite 'harsh'.

I have a lovely Greek friend (in his 30s) called Zacharias - now that sounds nicer imo.
