Would she be a roofer? Wonder how true any of this is?

Opinions on Ruth v welcome too!

Like it. Suggested it to DP but he's not so keen, sadly.

people will occassionaly call her Rebecca or Rachel by mistake!

Interesting comments afterwards. Agree that most don't seem to know that Jack was originally a diminutive of John. Some purists don't think it should be a name in its own right at all.

Ruth is a solid, no nonsense name. Not for me but IMO fine.

MrsBadger · 25/10/2009 17:20

oh I like it

was on the list for dd as it's feminine but unfrilly and hard to shorten

also considered Rachel, Laura, Sally, Alice, and Zoe for similar reasons if they appeal too

My niece is Ruth (18) .. it is very nice. And as for getting confused with Rachel and Rebecca... errr... no.

MrsBadger · 25/10/2009 17:25

no, indeed Rachel and Rebecca are more often confused with each other ime

shallishanti · 25/10/2009 17:25

trust me, it happens

An old friend Ruth is universally known as Kanga.
