Reece or Ethan?

DH and I can't seem to agree on any boys names. After giving dd a name which people seem to be unable to spell (and often make up their own spelling) I want to avoid this with a boy. DD is only 4 and I'm already sick of having to repeat her name, spell it and worry I've burdened her with a 'difficult' name for the rest of her life.

So what do people think of Reece or Ethan for a boy? Bit worried people will spell Reece as Rhys or Rece, though wouldn't have though this would be a problem with Ethan?

Of the two, I prefer Ethan

I like Ethan. Know a little one called Ethan and he is the cutest, sweetest little one you could imagine. Also hard to misspell IMO, whereas you have Rhys/Rees/Reece/Rece/Rhees...

Yes, it will be spelt Rhys because that is how you spell it.

I'm not a fan of either name but if you must have one go for Rhys.

I quite like Rhys. I much prefer it to Reece. Which is a bit daft really.

Reece would seem to be the more common spelling now if my classes are anything to go by.

Rhys is spelt Rhys.

I prefer Ethan though.

Both quite nice and inoffensive, I can see why you like them. I'd say Reece/Rhys but it depends on your surname.

Ethan's nice, too, but I can't imagine a teenage Ethan.

See, you can keep on saying that it's spelled Rhys, and I do prefer it that way myself, but the Reece form is very, very common now, and I think we must have reached the point where it is an accepted variant.

I like 'Reece' but I thought that was the female spelling? As in Reece Witherspoon.

My ds2 is called Ethan so I love that name but I also like Reece/Rhys (I like both spelling variations).

I like both but i like Reiss spelt that way which invariably people would get wrong.
