Not looking for a name for myself at the moment but I heard this the other day and rather like it so thought I'd put it to the MN jury.

I know a lovely one, with an i in the middle, Saige.

Saige is an Indian name .

I don't like it. I remember a girl called Thyme, that is nice, and of course Rosemary is lovely.

most likely to be... an accountant.

WinkyWinkola · 02/10/2009 12:46

On paper, it looks lovely but I practised saying it and it came out like a nasal, Eastenders, "Say-eeege" but I could be being a bit snobby?

MrsBadger · 02/10/2009 12:49

awful

well you did ask

vickiadele · 02/10/2009 12:49

I like sage, but proberly how cortina spelt it

GYo · 02/10/2009 12:51

LOL about her being an accountant, hadnt thought of that!

Hadnt thought about it sounding a bit say-age

We could never use it anyway, we cook to much to be able to use a name that resembles a cooking ingredient!

Herb names: I used to know a girl called Sorrel. Unusual, but I think quite a pretty name (used to make my mum laugh, but she's quite traditional).

Sage to me sounds more as if the girl would be expected to be the new Gandalf.

PMSL

happyjules · 03/10/2009 00:26

Love it, was a consideration for dd2

TigerDrivesAgain · 03/10/2009 00:34

happyjules, you're just fibbing.

Sage - no not really, it's not really very feminine is it? Sorrel ok, Rosemary, Lavender (???). We had a cat called Parsley (RIP).
