Roscoe/Rosco?

Knew a handsome Italian Roscoe and have always loved the name, he pre-dates the Dukes of Hazard which is the inevitable comparison it seems!

I really love the name, not sure of it's origins.

Also what about Blaize for a boy? Know it has 'old' origins I think? Am drawn but sounds a bit like a favourite pony I fear.

Prefer Roscoe to Blaize. Not sure why, but the latter feels a bit
contrived, as if you're trying too hard to come up with a cool name.

Roscoe Tanner was a rather dishy tennis player iirc.
I was never allowed to watch the Dukes so didn't know there
was a roscoe in it.

Blaize is a Mills and Boon hero.

In my head, Roscoe is always followed by "P. Coltrane" however, I am old , younger people might not have that association.

Said that in my OP, when that memory fades it's a great name I think! I knew one who was like an Italian Johnny Dep when young.

I love this! my dad's family are scottish and we have a Roscoe in the extended family. He's so cute. It so does suit a 3 year old boy

I think Jago or Hugo would be a good sibling name.

Roscoe is rather cool. Wouls you mind if people shortened it to Ross, though ?

Blaize reminds me of a hero(/heroine ?) in a Jackie Collins novel ....

Roscoe is lovely. I looked it up and it appears to be of Old Norse and Germanic origin.
Blaize I don't like. Sounds like a name for a dog or a horse.

I think Blaise (?) is actually a posh, old school, English name from memory but thinking more about it sounds quite the opposite possilby?

Love Roscoe. Went to school with a girl called Blaize so it has female connotations for me.

Blaise - the really nasty boy in Pretty in Pink!!! He was HORRID! That would put me off a bit, fabulous film though!

I know a Roscoe, think it's sweet - they don't shorten it, I guess it's a more unusual Milo/Hugo 'o' name.

Blaize sounds like a horses name!

Rosco sounds like a big cash and carry shop - like Cost Co. Or even Tesco!
