For a girl as middle name. Yesterday I was on about Arwen, now Wynne - I wonder where this weird tangent will take me! I bet she ends up with Jane or something, haha!

Anyway, thoughts on Wynne? And would you pronounce it 'win' or 'wine' or 'winnie'?

Over to you!

it's definitely pronounced 'WIN' there is no other way to pronounce it.

ScummyMummy · 28/09/2009 17:13

It's not a wynner, imo.

LedodgyDailyMailstinksofpoo · 28/09/2009 17:13

Wynne is quite a common surname.

bellissima · 28/09/2009 17:14

It is Lynne with a W.

I like Winnie for a girl. Winifred Is nice imo. I know my taste is a bit crustier than average though.

Wynne is ok for a 67 year old pensioner in a male voice choir.

pinkthechaffinch · 28/09/2009 18:41

Looks like a typo of Wayne.

pointydoug · 28/09/2009 18:51

Dinana Wynee Jones. What is it, a surname or a Welsh name?

janeite · 28/09/2009 19:03

It is pronounced Winn. It is a boys' name as far as I know. I used to go out with one and he was deffo male.

For a girl it is not good methinks: go for Winifred instead; it's got a certain retro-value and she is a cool witch too.

MrsVik · 28/09/2009 19:14

Fair enough! The mumsnet jury has spoken

/screws up Wynne and throws it out the window

Wyn is the masculine version; Wynne is feminine.
