ahhhh Rrrrrrrrrrrruuuufus [wistful and somewhat lascivious emoticon]. Cool.
Digby however = red braces/city boys to me.

hambler · 11/09/2009 18:57

love love love . Esp Rufus

simplesusan · 11/09/2009 19:09

Rufus is better but will always remind me of Shakka Chan (sorry about the spelling).

OtterInaSkoda · 11/09/2009 19:49

Chaka Khan Even cooler!

mumof2222222222222222boys · 11/09/2009 19:50

I don't really have a view on the names, but had to say that I know a very nice man called Digby. Whose surname is Hole.

Bigmouthstrikesagain · 11/09/2009 19:57

Rufus Sewell is lush but Sir Digby Chicken Caesar means I wouldn't use Digby for a baby!

What Mamalazarou said

Kbear · 11/09/2009 20:14

cruel

GrendelsMum · 11/09/2009 20:59

I love them both, but especially Digby.

But to be honest, too much time on this site is making me start to think I have terrible taste

Meglet · 11/09/2009 21:00

Both fab!

Fennel · 11/09/2009 21:01

I like Rufus. dd3 would have been Rufus, if she'd been a boy.

Georgimama · 11/09/2009 21:01

Rufus is one of DS's middle names. Oh yes, I am that pretentious that he has 2. Was nearly his actual name ( jury was out until we saw his face although we had the 3 names fixed, just not the order) but he looked much much more like a George.

GiPi1 · 11/09/2009 21:21

Love the name Digby and it was one of my choices for ds 7 years ago !!!

geRONtius · 11/09/2009 21:24

Brings to mind Sir Digby Chicken Caesar....
Rufus is lovely.

GrendelsMum · 12/09/2009 11:32

What is this Sir Digby Chicken Caesar everyone keeps talking about?

I suspect it is some kind of hushed voice convenience food raises voice again available from supermarkets such as hushed voice Asda. Personally, I think anyone who likes the name Digby is too posh ever to have heard of Sir Digby Chicken Caesar. Our housekeepers make our chicken caesar for us.

Momdeguerre · 12/09/2009 15:44

I know an adorable 14 month old Digby, he is a flaming red head and has the collest parents - he suits his name down to the ground and, so far, they have received very few negative comments - not that they care!!

Rufus is cool too but I prefer Digby.

tootyflooty · 12/09/2009 15:58

you will never be accused of being chavy with names like that, both ok names but I must admit they both sound more dog like. Be prepared for teasing at school, unless you are very posh in which case he will be mixing with Ruperts, Giles, Barnaby etc .Good Luck

limonchik · 12/09/2009 16:15

I'm not keen on either. I know a baby Rufus though.

NigellaTufnel · 12/09/2009 16:20

I used to know a Digby at uni.

There was a mistake on the register, and his name was read out as Bigby.

he was very proud.

Unfortunately a girl in my dorm found out that his new name was undeserved.

But imagine if your kid is on the plump side... Ouch.

largeginandtonic · 12/09/2009 16:37

I love them both and have had both on the list for mine at some point!

I think Rufus is best but like Digby a lot too

Do it!

MaggieVirgoOn · 12/09/2009 16:51

I love Digby and Rufus. Digby reminds me of Harry Potter, or isthat Diggory. Diggory also quite cute

frazzledoldbag · 12/09/2009 22:20

Digby was on my list..............

geRONtius · 12/09/2009 23:27

Sir Digby Chicken Caesar is a popular character on the sketch show That Mitchell And Webb Look.

GrendelsMum · 13/09/2009 13:11

Really? Gosh, you learn something every day on Mumsnet.

That will save me searching the aisles of Asda.

mummy2t · 13/09/2009 15:56
