Girl's name with French and Greek roots...

It's sweet; though thoroughly French to my ear - elodie, amelie, aurelie - all similar if you're struggling!

MaggieVirgo · 03/09/2009 20:38

okkkkay.

nigglewiggle · 03/09/2009 20:39

I like it. It sounds pretty but funky.

tummytickler · 03/09/2009 20:50

Prefer Coral myself - i love Coral actually, but i cant use it as i have a Pearl!
Coralie is ok, but prefer Coral.

brimfull · 03/09/2009 20:51

I know a particulary rude arrogant french canadiene called Coralie

DS2's teacher is called Coralie, and she is the most loveliest person, it's a lovely name

warthog · 03/09/2009 21:04

lovely!

differentID · 03/09/2009 21:07

Knew a coralie- didn't exactly see eye to eye with her.

wheresclaire · 03/09/2009 21:52

Its nice. I liked Coraline, like the film.

bellissima · 04/09/2009 08:15

Saw the film poster and wondered why they couldn't spell Caroline.... unless there is an 'Amelie' like proliferation of little Coralines I think any thus named child would have the same problem.

Not sure about Coralie either. maybe too close to 'chorally'..

WinkyWinkola · 04/09/2009 09:17

Very pretty name.

coralie66 · 04/09/2009 14:38

I love it now but as a child I got called a lot of things like celery/calorie/collie etc etc.

MrsVik · 04/09/2009 19:51

Very unusual! I like it though, it's pretty.

nevergoogledragonbutter · 04/09/2009 19:52

Tortington · 04/09/2009 19:52

sounds like a description pertaining to the seabed

"ooh you look a bit corally today!"

deepdarkwood · 04/09/2009 19:53

Like it - different, but very spellable

lovemygirlme · 04/09/2009 21:47

my friend's son is called Corralis named after a mexican boxer-diego corralis, it causes no end of problems- spelling, pronunciation (sp!) and explanation!!

Paolosgirl · 04/09/2009 21:49
