Jonah.

Wyatt is a surname. Americans name their children surnames as forenames. It's naff.

expatinscotland · 23/08/2009 17:12

actually, Jonah . . . and the whale.

nope. neither one.

HecatesTwopenceworth · 23/08/2009 17:13

I don't like either of them, tbh. If I had to choose one, I'd go for Jonah because I like Wyatt less.

HecatesTwopenceworth · 23/08/2009 17:15

Wyatt Earp v Jonah and the whale, expat.

FS - if you like them both and can't choose, why not flip a coin. When it's up in the air you will probably find yourself hoping for one or the other, and if you don't, you may as well go with the coin!

  • that method of decision making has served me well over the years!
dingdong3 · 23/08/2009 17:20

Jonah...every time..it's a lovely name!

Spoo · 23/08/2009 17:22

Vote for Jonah. Lovely name. I don't like Wyatt - too american.

Meanbeansmum · 23/08/2009 17:42

I had a dream when I was pg with my first son that a mw passed me my baby and said you can call him Jonah. I called him Jojo and Jonah for the rest of the pg. When he was born I just didn't have the guts to name him Jonah so he became Joseph and he is stil Joe now. Good luck whatever you decide, it has to be your choice.

How about Jonas?

treacletart · 23/08/2009 17:46

Jonah

diddl · 23/08/2009 17:54

I prefer Jonah.
No reason.
Wyatt-just don´t like it!

littleboyblue · 23/08/2009 17:57

I prefer Jonah. Although I do like Wyatt, but prefer Jonah

shootfromthehip · 23/08/2009 17:57

I prefer Jonah- obviously only the best kind of parents choose to call their boys Jonah- but then I may be biased

Thunderduck · 23/08/2009 18:11

Most definitely Jonah. I don't like Wyatt at all.

screamingabdab · 23/08/2009 19:07

Jonah.

Wyatt is a surname, and too American (unless you are American, in which case, it is still a surname )

magbags · 23/08/2009 19:35

Jonah. It's a lovely name (I've loved it since the little boy in Sleepless in Seattle was called it) but my dh vetoed due to bad luck associations (very annoying). Not keen on Wyatt at all.

Littlefish · 23/08/2009 19:56

Jonah

Wyatt is a cowboy with bandy legs.

Ondine · 23/08/2009 20:15

I couldn't get over the interchangeability of Jonah as a description of a luckless, bringer of doom type!

Wyatt is no good unless you really are a cowboy imo.

sunshiney · 23/08/2009 20:19

i know a lovely Jonah. Also you can say "Quiet Jonah!" but you can't say "Quiet Wyatt!"

LynetteScavo · 23/08/2009 20:21

Jonah.

Because it's a lovely name, and Wyatt is not.

screamingabdab · 23/08/2009 20:25

LOL sunshiney

pooexplosions · 23/08/2009 20:35

Yep, I'm with shoot..the classiest parents have a Jonah Mine is known as Jojo.
Wyatt is the kid in charmed as well. Yuck.

Why is Jonah meant to be unlucky? He got swallowed by a sea monster and didn't die? Luckiest man ever!

TheChilliMooseTalksNonsense · 23/08/2009 20:43

Jonah. Fab name.

jkklpu · 23/08/2009 21:12

hulabula · 23/08/2009 21:20
