NOTHING that begins with the letter 'T'

LauraKB · 19/08/2009 13:25

Lol, absolutely agreed. We originally really liked the name Toby, but very quickly realised that wouldn't be very good.

We are thinking of making it a middle midle name (i.e. between 2 others) for a boy but we'll see.

I also liked the name Juno years ago but again quickly realised that wasn't a goer!

LOL @ Juno.

I only say a massive no to it because my surname is very similar (just put an s on the end). I have cousin called Thomas who was teased relentlesly through secondary school.

skybright · 19/08/2009 13:37

Den,Anita and Sharon come to mind for some reason.

Only kidding, my fav's are Carys and saul.

tiredOFTHEDMemma · 19/08/2009 13:39

I love the name Saul. Have only ever met one person with that name.

LauraKB · 19/08/2009 13:47

I like Carys, will suggest that tonight. Not so keen on Saul with Watt because it sounds quite like 'So' to me.

It's mainly girl's names we are struggling with but we don't know what we're having as baby was being very modest at the scan.

LauraKB · 19/08/2009 14:07

AspasiaManos · 19/08/2009 14:07

The only Watts I know called their children Eleanor and James.

AspasiaManos · 19/08/2009 14:08

When I say "Watts" I mean their surname was actually "Watt" - sorry!

midnightexpress · 19/08/2009 14:10

It's a Scottish name, I think, isn't it, so I might be inclined to go with something Scottish like Isobel.

LauraKB · 19/08/2009 14:13

It is Scottish yes. I hadn't thought of Isobel but actually that's quite nice. I think I like the spelling Isabel though. I also like Eleanor. OH will probably say no chance when I go in, but then I have 'no chanced' a quite a few names he likes .

midnightexpress · 19/08/2009 14:15

Or Isabella is pretty too. And I like Izzy as a NN too.

LauraKB · 19/08/2009 14:19

My Mum likes Isabella, but anything ending in 'a' I think can sound a bit funny with Watt eg it sounds a bit like Isla What? Rosa What? etc. Really like both of those names but sound a bit funny to me.

AspasiaManos · 19/08/2009 14:27

Oh yeah, like "Is a bell a what?"

Deffo avoid names ending in "a".

TitsalinaBumsquash · 19/08/2009 14:30

I wnet to school with a family of Watts they were called Naomi and Stuart.

Neel1411 · 19/08/2009 14:41

Guess Watt

Fimbo · 19/08/2009 16:20

Struan Watt
Campbell Watt

Susannah Watt
Matilda Watt

GrimmaTheNome · 19/08/2009 16:25

I think I'd avoid names starting with s to avoid 'swot' nickname.

I had a friend called Lewis and that seemed to go ok.

choosyfloosy · 19/08/2009 16:26

I'd be thinking fairly serious, elegant names with a gender-traditional bottom but avoiding too posh an aftertaste.

Maxine
Miranda (despite the 'a')
Alexandra(despite the 'a' again!)
Sophie
