Hi, I've already chosen Albert as a middle name after my grandad but we can't think of a first name that goes with it.We both like Alex but is that too many ALs?

James

MrsBadger · 19/08/2009 08:33

Depends on your surname tbh

James is excellent though - I think either one syllable or three would be good with ALbert

Benjamin?
Christopher?

Alex is too many 'Al's, you're quite right

pippapenguin · 19/08/2009 08:50

The poor child's surname will be Goosey!!

oh dear
well there are worse things

I was thinkign more of length than of anything else - 'Jack Stone' is a bit abrupt and 'Christopher Fotherinton-Thomas' is a bit of a mouthful, but Goosey is fine with long or short names.

just don't let him marry anyone called Lucy...

belgo · 19/08/2009 09:03

Alexander Albert sounds fine to me.

MrsBarbaraKingstanding · 19/08/2009 09:03

William.

Lovely name.

William Albert Goosey.

Wheelybug · 19/08/2009 09:06

with * Albert Goosey you're going to have to be careful with initials if that bothers you.

I like James Albert Goosey.

TsarChasm · 19/08/2009 09:09

I think Alexander Albert sounds just fine and it works .

Might be too many 'AL's' if your surname begins with the same letters.

diddl · 19/08/2009 09:51

Alexander, and "Alex" for short.
Simples

thirtysomething · 19/08/2009 10:02

Alex sounds great - goes with surname and really how many times do you need to say the whole name anyway?

Would also work:
Daniel
Matthew
Peter
Lucas/Luke
Lewis/Louis
Sebastian
Oliver
Jack/James
Joseph/Joe
Oscar
Thomas/Tom
William (though the initials would be WAG!)
Patrick
Samuel

Nothing beginning with "F" obviously.....

SoupDragon · 19/08/2009 21:13

Not convinced about A Goosey. I used to work with A Chicken, and I'm not a farmer.

Tidey · 19/08/2009 21:21

Sag, Wag, Fag, Tag... basically it's going to spell something pronounceable unless the first name also starts with a vowel. But I don't know whether that bothers you.

I think Alexander Albert sounds okay anyway.

shoobidoo · 19/08/2009 22:05

I like

Quentin Albert Goosey

and

Oscar Albert Goosey

also the initials don't mean anything obviously teaseworthy...

mopsyflopsy · 20/08/2009 07:53

I like

Thomas
William
Quentin
James

best with Albert as second name.

mathanxiety · 21/08/2009 08:18

I would avoid Luke and Lucas, Louis and Lewis, (same problem as Lucy...) and the initial A isn't great with the surname either. I like Patrick, Oliver, Henry, Sam and Peter.

bubblagirl · 21/08/2009 08:38

mitchell albert
riley albert
harrison albert
mason albert
bryce albert
isaac albert
samuel albert
kye albert
jayden albert

Ineedsomesleep · 21/08/2009 08:58

Think that Alexander Albert Goosey sounds lovely.

I would be wary of too many Al's if Al was the beginning of his last name, but with a middle name it sounds lovely.

Ineedsomesleep · 21/08/2009 08:58

Sorry about that, too much use of lovely I know.

I'll get me coat before the MN police turn up.
