It's for a boy. Pronounced Sea-Lay. Middle name Salvatore (Pronounced Salvatoray). Means Blessed Saviour.

TIA!!

LOL AitchTwoOh! I just hope not!

I love it (especially for the meaning) ... but I was wondering if he wud love it!! Will have to wait until he tells me how "silly" his name is! LOL!

Will go with his second name I feel. So anyone can suggest a short name for him. Other than Sal (reminds me of my DH's boss!). Sal does sound good though.

Well Ashley is pronounced Ashlee or Ashlay depending on countries and gender! So thought in the same lines for Sealey

Go with Salvatore, definitely!

Wasn't there an Italian footballer called Salvatore who was nicknamed Toto? But I definitely think Sal is better

where is it pronouced Ashlay?

I suppose there are people who pronounce Courtney 'Courtnay'...

I think Ashley is only pronounced Ashlay in Birminghamland.

But surely the meaning is a bit heavy for such a small child? Blessed Saviour? It's nice, but, it's a bit, erm,

I agree with the others. Start calling your DS Sal, forthwith.

It did remind me of a stuffed toy tbh - this is teddy, this is dolly, this is sealy!!

but if you love it you should go with it, regardless of anyone else!
My sisters name was universally slated when she was christened and she absolutely loves it, wouldn't change it for the world.

I like salvatore, infact I am tempted to leap on dp right now so I can inmpregnate my self and call our offsrping salvatore.

Sealy reminds me of the mattress, they are good mattresses but still mattresses.

LOL! Oh please ... its Sea-Lay! Not Sealee!!! ... LOL! I am tired already! I am happy atleast the second name is good ... and by the way Toto (italian short for salvatore, pronounced Toe Toe?) sounds good for his nickname .. what do u all think?

italians would shorten salvatore to 'tore, but it's pron tory so i don't know how you'd feel about that. i know a few victoria tories and it doesn't seem to have held them back.
sal is v cool imo.

Sal sounds good, Toto is the dog from Wizard of Oz

don't think the meaning's too heavy at all

I mean, when you consider Lola (from Dolores) means 'misery', and Rachel means 'sheep' and Rebecca means 'a trap or snare' meanings are a bit of a red herring altogether

i love the meaning, it's fantastic. i love little spanish boys called xavier (saviour) and of course jesus. lolol. we're too buttoned-up in this country.

Prouncing Sealey as Sea lay reminds me a bit of Hyacinth Bucket (Bouquet)

Bucket = Bouquet?? LOL! Atleast I am not the only one with a funny spelling and pronunciation!

Never ask for opinions on your baby's name after you have named him.
