I think it's a bit drippy.

SouthMum · 11/09/2009 18:26

no

MamaLazarou · 11/09/2009 18:36

It is a brilliant name.

HigherThanAWombat · 11/09/2009 19:14

I hate it.

Xavielli · 11/09/2009 19:19

It's lovely!

minxofmancunia · 11/09/2009 19:26

sounds like a dog name

sorry

florence2511 · 11/09/2009 19:28

I love it.

It was our choice had we had a DS instead of a DD.

It is a proper name, but not over used.

HarrietTheSpy · 11/09/2009 19:47

The show ruined it for me. It is actually quite a nice name. But I can't bear that bear (har! sorry!!)

Booette · 18/09/2009 20:56

I know I'm late with this but I love it! Then again I am biased as I have a 2 year old Barnaby (Barney) myself! He is a lovely cheeky monkey, and he totally and utterly suits his name!

I love Barnabas as well, but his middle and surname begins with S so I thought it was a bit too hissy!

allaboutme · 18/09/2009 20:59

My friends boyfriend is called Barnaby. He is called Barn for short.
For YEARS I thought his name was Brian as it sounds like Brian when you say Barn quickly!!

MaggieBeauLeo · 18/09/2009 20:59

Pompous, and a bit..... furry

But I don't absolutely hate it. I sort of like it, btu i'd feel self-conscious having a Barnaby. What about Gregory. Is that not as posh? Diggory? Is that Harry Potter or Bob the Builder?

totalmisfit · 18/09/2009 21:06

i knew a barnaby at school - i don't think he ever got over the name. not quite sure why, as it's not that bad, but all 3 of his siblings had quite normal names and his mother always used to say it might've been the drugs in labour that made her go choose it. and it does make me think of the bear.

random · 18/09/2009 21:10

Tis horrible

MaggieBeauLeo · 18/09/2009 21:22

This baby must be two months old now. I wonder what the OP called her baby!

Rindercella · 18/09/2009 21:24

Quite like it - he'll have to be very posh though, and go to a terribly good school. I knew a Barnaby once, and he was probably the poshest chap I have ever met (and I have met a few very posh people )

MaggieBeauLeo · 18/09/2009 21:28

The name Barnaby Mayhew keeps popping into my head. Whose son is he? somebody famous' son...

btw, baby born two months ago.

OrmIrian · 18/09/2009 21:37

Makes me think of that fucking stupid bear!

MaggieBeauLeo · 18/09/2009 21:39

oh lovely!! Barnabetta?!

Rindercella · 18/09/2009 21:42

PMSL

MaggieBeauLeo · 18/09/2009 21:44

Well, she'd be the only one in her class!! And that is

katnkittens · 18/09/2009 21:53

Agree with some pps, nice for a bear or large dog. Not so nice for a person.

If he got Barney (as he would invariably by some people) the big purple dinosaur would haunt him forever....

mummyloveslucy · 18/09/2009 22:01

Gorgeous, love it.
If you like it then go for it, don't let anyone put you off.

4051 · 02/10/2009 13:56

my 10yr old is called Barnaby...he loves the name.Goes to an average junior school & gets no grief unlike peers named William.
I knew 2 Barnabys years back ..both really cool guys & not posh at all.
A fab name, who wants to be common anyway?!

Thissideofchannel · 02/10/2009 15:06

I personally don't the sound of it at all... dont' know why. Also reminds me of the purple dinosaur, Barney.
