I mean, I don't know any myself, but apparently is very popular now...

I know two of 18 months and under. And one of about 45 years.

squeaver · 04/08/2009 13:39

I know 4 aged 5 and under. It's the male Olivia round here.

squeaver · 04/08/2009 13:39

Actually, I know 5 - just thought of another one.

Mammina · 04/08/2009 13:40

Quite popular in London

Issy123 · 04/08/2009 14:23

I know two, but hear it a lot in shops/parks etc. its a nice name.

GoldenSnitch · 04/08/2009 14:37

I know 3 under 3's called Oscar.

It seems to ber very popular. For girls it's Olivia or Isabelle round here...

bodiddly · 04/08/2009 14:38

I know one that is 3 months and 1 that is 13

bodiddly · 04/08/2009 14:38

but I would have thought it was fairly popular due to Eastenders!

MamaLazarou · 04/08/2009 14:47

I don't know any.

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 04/08/2009 14:52

I have one, he is lovely.

He is pre-popularity and certainly pre-eastenders though.

Is is getting very popular now.

hulabula · 04/08/2009 19:19

VERY popular round here (Surrey) - two in ds's nursery class of 20.

Bubbaloo · 04/08/2009 22:44

I have a 4 year old Oscar and he's the only one I've ever come across.

KleineMaus · 04/08/2009 23:05

These things seem to depend very much on where you live. I'm in north-east Scotland and I've never met an Oscar yet (have three year old ds).

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 05/08/2009 00:04

I don't know any, except for my cat.

Unconventional · 05/08/2009 00:06

I was going to say very popular, but I only know one in DSs' school (SW London).

hambler · 05/08/2009 00:29

very

lowrib · 05/08/2009 00:58

I know two baby Oscars.

YanknCock · 05/08/2009 02:37

I know one who is 3 weeks old. Thought it was sort of unusual, but reading this, apparently not!

ClaudiaSchiffer · 05/08/2009 02:55

Really popular, it is a lovely name but I think it will be the 2000's version of John - ie very nice but incredibly common.

Funnily enough my VERY snooty s-i-l has an Oscar, and would be aghast to realise that it is now common .

I have an Oscar (22mths)chose the name thinking it was a normal but uncommon name not realizing that a baby had just been named Oscar on Eastenders!! Not bothered though as I cant imagine him as anything else now. Oscars are very loving and affectionate and adore their mummys (well mine does anyway) Have to say though I havent come across any other Oscars in RL although we dont get out much so that may be why!
