Any thoughts on this?
I am liking it for a boy but not sure if the face Kerry Katona has a son called this makes it seem 'chav'?

Also, are there many of them about?

reminds me of rhubarbs (ex) parrot

I really like Max. Not many round here as surnames seem to be the in thing - Mason, Mitchell, Riley, Ryan, Taylor, Mackenzie - you get the idea .

I have heard it a lot but I don't like it, it sounds like a dogs name to me.

englishpatient · 27/07/2009 17:22

Two Maxes at DS's school.

Used to know a Max.
Quite a handful so wouldn't be first choice...
I think quite common too.

maggievirgo · 27/07/2009 17:25

Not chav. But it's been done to death

What about Bruce? Gus? Rex? Guy? Saul? Greg? Ross? Lots of names have the same snappy one syllable feel but are much more unusual.

Fwiw, KK did well with her names, Heidi and Max. Could have been Billy-Rae and Lookey or something similar

MamaLazarou · 27/07/2009 17:27

I agree with maggievirgo. It's not 'chav' at all, but it's omnipresent.

jellybeans · 27/07/2009 18:10

I really like it.

steaknife · 27/07/2009 18:15

I know a lady whose son is called Maximo which I think is lovely.

chandellina · 27/07/2009 22:22

i have a Max. It's common, but less common than Jack, Harry, Oliver and 20 or 30 other names that no one seems to worry about being too common. ;)

we went with Maxwell as the longer form, as it works well with our surname, Kerry Katona be damned. (DH doesn't even know who she is.)

it's a classic name (Max, I mean) and you really can't go wrong with it, IMO.
