Names to go with Aoife?

HI,

DH and I were talking about babies the other day and we are thinking of calling a girl Aoife (pronounced Ee-fa) - thats if we ever get a girl.
Thing is we can't think of a name to go with it that we think would be perfect

So far we have

Aoife Sara
Aoife Louise....

and now we're stuck

Any ideas?

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AppleandMosesMummy · 17/07/2009 21:20

I love Aoife, I would use Louise because that's what DH likes, but Grace, Jayne, Clare, Kerry, Catherine all spring to mind, the usual suspects.

katiestar · 17/07/2009 23:01

Know 2 Aoife's would go for something short without too many vowels

katiestar · 17/07/2009 23:03

Not Aoife Grace -sounds like 'here for grace'

kidcreoleandthecoconuts · 17/07/2009 23:05

Aoife may
Aoife grace
Aoife jayne

katiestar · 17/07/2009 23:11

Aoife grace of god go I.

Would always avoid May as a middle name. It's mine too .Memories of boys from my childhood saying 'well Susie won't (put out) , but Katherine May. After it has been said about 300 x it wears a bit thin !

Roisin?
Saoirse/Sorcha (sorry, I know I'm not spelling it right)
Sian?
Rachel?
Lydia?

I have a friend called Aoife, it's a lovely name, good choice.

Sorry but IMO all the names suggested so far are INCREDIBLY boring.

Louise - this was THE middle name when I was little (in my 30s now) - everyone I know seemed to have Louise as a middle name.

Grace and May on the other hand are the Louise of the moment. There are just so many bloody Graces and May middle names about - I suspect they'll both date quite quickly.

Jayne, Clare etc are VERY boring!

Sorry, I usually only join baby names threads to say nice things about names I like, or to encourage people to go for the more unusual names, but really people, these names are just so plain! And they don't do the lovely Aoife any justice.

Aoife Sara is nice

I hadn't read hester's post when I posted

Thanks for all of your replies - think I might be using them sooner than I expected -

I like Aoife Jayne, and Aoife Sara.

We also like Saoirse but DH is English so he wants a celtic/Anglo mix.

Id say its between those two - and we might just wait and see what happens before deciding between the 2.

Thanks a million

Frasersmum123 · 18/07/2009 21:12

Aoife Francesca
Aoife Rose
Aoife Jasmine
Aoife Elodie

lowrib · 19/07/2009 00:38

Frasersmum123 Elodie is a lovely name

thumbwitch · 19/07/2009 00:46

I did think Aoife Marie would be nice, then saw maryz had posted that she knew one - tis a good combo imo, I like the rhythm of it.

Fanjita · 19/07/2009 00:48

I like Aoife Marie too

1dilemma · 19/07/2009 01:04

Aoife Roisin is nice
I'm not so keen on the names ending in a sounds too similar

Aoife Rose (but I know is very common)
Florence
Harriet

stacey29 · 01/08/2015 22:28

My daughter's name is Aoife Catherine Smile

Quasilulu · 02/08/2015 02:48

Not a name starting with E cos it will sound like E for Emma for example. How about Aoife Tamsin?

mathanxiety · 03/08/2015 07:02

Aoife Josephine
Aoife Rosalind
Aoife Blythe
Aoife Rosemary
Aoife Madeleine
Aoife Naomi
Aoife Lillian
Aoife Gwendolene
Aoife Juliet

I like Harriet and Tamsin too.

I think Aoife Sara sounds too short and too rhymey.
I think names like Jayne, May, etc are sort of clicheed as middle names.

Aoife needs a longer middle name imo.
