We love Hazel and Elsie but need a lovely name with different first letter.

dd1's name starts with 'E' - dd2's name starts with 'H'. We have a family middle name so if we chose either Hazel or Elsie for dd3 then 2 dd's would have exactly the same initials. Can you think of another pretty name like the above? Preferably something that won't be shortened, perhaps a bit old-fashioned. Thanks.

Caroline shortened to Carrie if you wanted the possibility.

Nothing wrong with having the same initials.

Martha
Tessa
Alice

are all very pretty.

At the moment we're going for Hazel but with a different middle name. It's slightly making me twitch as the my other dd's have a family middle name but have decided it will probably do me good to break with tradition. . Lovely suggestions, thank you.

how about two middle names ?
So you could use Hazel or Elsie plus the family name and then another name and then the initals will be different as there will be 4.
I have 2 middle names.

Hangingbellyofbabylon · 13/07/2009 20:21

Smac, my thoughts exactly. Am trying to convince dh to keep my family middle name but also add one from his family that he wants. I think 2 middle names are cool. My friend suggested no middle name at all I'm a bit of traditionist and couldn't imagine not having a middle name.

The one down side is that some organisations can't cope with 2 middle initials eg National Insurance card I get S M H instead of S M J H which annoys me. Either call me S H or SMJ H* but not 3/4s of my name!

Can hear cries of 'it's not fair', however unjustifed, if one has 2 middle names and the others don't.
