I really like it - DH thinks it's ridiculous and poncy. Is he right? Eek feel nervous now that you're all going to agree with him

it is a lovely name.

coppola · 08/07/2009 21:27

Well, yes, I spose, but you can't care about that, or all boys would be called James or Michael or somesuch.

It's a good poncy

PacificDogwood · 08/07/2009 21:34

No, sorry, do not like it. Baaaad poncy .

Also too close to Indigo children...

But, hey, your child, your name

Doctorskidaddle · 08/07/2009 21:48

Mammina · 09/07/2009 22:45

where does it originate from? I like it and may have to steal it

MamaLazarou · 10/07/2009 08:42

I adore the name Inigo, so does DH. Go for it!

Issy2008 · 10/07/2009 20:43

I love it. No chance of persuading my DH tho! x

Doctorskidaddle · 10/07/2009 21:00

migola - it's Spanish, possibly Basque but not sure. I also love Inaqi (with sqiggle on the n) but that would just be too wierd in the UK

I love it - it was the name of a very gorgeous (and v. posh) rugby-player type that I lived with when I was at uni and in halls. Apparently his dad was an architect(!)

Anyway, he was the one that caught me when for the only time in my life I fainted, and to this day I still smile at the memory of me swooning into his arms. . . . .

Go for it, in fact I think Inigo has now replaced Hugo as my name of choice for a future ds2!

Childcare1994 · 24/06/2014 12:43

Had to give a yes vote to Inigo. My Inigo is a 6ft 2 tree surgeon now and nobody would dare call him a ponce! Yes, some (thick) people do mistake it for INdigo but he can live with that. We actually call him Inz as a abbreviation and for some reason he is also sometimes called 'Kenneth' by his little sister.....now there's a name that could be brought back into fashion.....
