I know it reminds me of the car in Nightrider but I still think it is kind of cool as a boys name.

Let me have it. . . . .

The book's called "False Colours" by Georgette Heyer if anyone's interested!! The leading men are twins called Christopher (called Kit by his mother and Kester by his brother) and Evelyn. The girl is called Cressida (Cressy).

Yuk for a boy, growing on me for a girl

I love it

I don't actually like Christopher though and we don't do just abbreviated names

i have an auntie kit, short for Kathleen.

Have seen kip as short for Christopher rather than kit.

I know a very very posh Christopher who is known as Topher.

It is my number 1 boys name and I'm just working on DH so we will use it is this one is a boy!.

It is originally short for Christopher and was very common in the 1940's and 50's. It has since become a name in it's own right and is now becoming more popular again.

I like it because if I had been a boy i would have been Christopher, which I'm not keen on but i still feel by using it the link will still be there.

I wanted ds1 to be shortened to Kit, but he never was - when he was a baby, it just didn't feel right, and now his friends all shorten him to Chris (which I secretly don't like at all, as it reminds me of a very boring family member).

My great grandmother was called Kit, short for Kathleen. I like it better as short for Christopher though, especially as that's my brother's name.

OMG - why do people keep resurrecting zombie threads?

I like it but what puts me off it is that people around Glasgow call Heroin "Kit" x

I think there's about to be a big glut of Kits.

I was wondering why no one had mentioned Kit Harrington. He was probably still at school when this thread started.
