I've no idea how people cope when name choices drag on for months...

I'm only 6 weeks but I think we have a girls name - the ONE name DH and I have agrees on (still looking for a boy's name)

What does everyone think of Tess...?

Any thoughts of a middle name to go with it (we don't use family names for middle names, just ones that go and we like...)

NIce name, but give her the full Theresa and just call her that.

i love Tess, i think thats a really pretty name, short and sweet. is it short for anything or just tess?

I DO love Hardy (can't get DH to agree on Diggory for a boy though...or Jude, or Gabriel...or Clym...or Angel...or frankly anything...)

We would just call her Tess rather than "Teresa to be shortened to Tess"..

I know an Esther shortened to Tess - like both names, not keen on Theresa

Well, just go for it then!
It is serious enough as a short name to stand alone when I think about it.
Love Jude and Gabriel too for boys.

I think Ophelia goes well with Tess, it does depend on your surname though, is it long or short?

Oh, forgot our surname - its and M - think Matthews (as thats very similar..)

She would need a middle name as she'd be DD3 and DD1 and DD2 both have middle names...

I think the character Tess was based on a real life person called Augusta, I've read it before but I can't find the link now.

lovely, MIL is Teresa and we chose to use either Tess, Rae or Reese as a MN in honour of her depending on which first name we chose. Rae went best with her chosen name but I still love Tess

I love Tess and Tessa. In fact, I can be shortened to them, but in my case, it's just BEGGING for chants of "ten ton Tessie" so I don't bother

That's our girl choice too - it's by far and away my favourite girl's name! However the sonographer at 13 weeks seemed to think we were having a boy, so am not sure we will get to use it This time, anyway...

Jude or Gabriel for a boy both lovely. Whatever you do, don't go for Angel though, as he's a pillock!

I like Tess: it's one of the few names both dp and I really liked for dd1 but it really didn't go with his surname. I don't like Theresa though, just Tess.
