I like

Edward (esp. as ted as nn) but DH doesnt. He doesnt understnd why you would formally call a child one thing but use another in everyday life.

Sebastian but not Seb

Tristan - but everyone tells me its 'poncey'

BeautifulBubbles, I have to agree with your husband. I don't see the point either. Couldn't you call him Ted something (ie Ted Alexander) so he has a choice of name later in life? he might think Alexander is nicer and use it for intance.

jellybeans · 12/05/2009 14:04

Just realised I suggested Leo Lee

I know a Sebastian, he is never called Se but it could happen.

I like Ted but not Edward.

What about...

Matthew
Adam
William
Cameron
Ross
Patrick
Ryan
Samuel
Marcus
Nicholas
George
Curtis
Kieran
Conor

jellybeans · 12/05/2009 14:05

tummytickler · 12/05/2009 14:31

I would chose a two syllable name. Anything shorter does't sound good with Lee imo, and a longer name will be shortened.

For example, Seb Lee or Dom Lee doesn't sound that great imo.

Two syllable names that I think sound good with Lee include:

Quentin Lee
Arthur Lee
Tristan Lee

merryberry · 12/05/2009 14:44

Linden

am going to suggest it to everyone in need of boys name until someone uses it (was only allowed it for middle name, ds2)

EyeballsisonaDietAgain · 12/05/2009 15:02

Ooh my friend's DH is Lynden. Really like it.

sockmonster · 12/05/2009 15:16

I have a friend named Tristan and he's fantastic, I love the name Tristan. It's a classic and classy name. Or Sebastian, or Nicholas, or Joshua. Zachariah could work with your surname too.

noddyholder · 12/05/2009 15:18

Max Robert William Jude

mouseman · 12/05/2009 15:29

Be careful with William - if its shortened you'll have Will Lee!

Tortington · 12/05/2009 15:31

Jonas

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 12/05/2009 15:55

Nicholas! Why didn't I think of that?

TattyCatty · 12/05/2009 16:00

Been there, done that as we're also a Lee family, although spelt differently. We had Isaac Jack lined up for DD, but Joshua was a close contender too. Agree that it needs to be a two syllable name and also needs to be a strong sounding name as Lee kind of peeters out as a sound IYSWIM.

MadreInglese · 12/05/2009 16:15

What about Jonah?

Greensneeze · 12/05/2009 16:17

Matthew
Aaron
David
Christy
Jeremy
Henry
Edward
Frederick
James
Roderick
Zachary

poppydaisy · 12/05/2009 17:55

From the suggestions so far, I like Tristan Lee and Quentin Lee the best.

Divineintervention · 12/05/2009 18:07

I like Quentin

jellycat · 12/05/2009 18:15

Don't go for Linden with Lee...it's a folk song .

Shoshe · 12/05/2009 18:16

Daniel.

ProfMargotBeauregarde · 12/05/2009 20:47

Frederick
Nicholas
Marcus
DOminic
Barnaby
Zachary
Gregory
Victor
Donald

I like Daniel, but it ends in an l so not before lee. Also, not Bruce. ALthough I like Bruce.

Knax · 12/05/2009 20:56

I agree Stewart Lee is dishy. The not so dishy one (Herring) chatted me up once! Sorry, for random me, me , me, moment.

It needs to be at least 2 syllables with Lee. Cassius Lee too much like Cassius Clay though.

Knax · 12/05/2009 20:58

Isaac lee sounds a bit like basically.
I suppose you have to avoid anything that sounds like an adverb really.

screamingabdab · 12/05/2009 20:59

Marcus?

Sidge · 12/05/2009 20:59

Gregory
Angus
Jonathan
Simon
