I like it, what do others think?

I like Emile a lot. I also love The Princess Bride and have always been quite taken by the name Westley!

I misread it as Emily too. From that respect, it works better as Emil although it depends if you're in the UK or not.

Love it.

I think Zola rather than the detective btw!

SarahL2 · 01/05/2009 18:55

bigchris I know it's pronounced Em-eel, I still misread it as Emily when scanning the threads.

If I can do it, I'm sure many others will too

"Yawn. More evidence of Mumsnet/British parochicalism (by the same people who probably name their children Greek, Hebrew etc derived names)."

DS has an Empathy Doll called Emile. I like it

Tinker · 02/05/2009 15:19

Love it

I think Emile might be a mistake unless you are French.

As Sarah says, easily misread as Emilie. A lot of Emilys here (along with Ella/Ellie/Emmie) and they are all girls.

Not keen on boy/girl names myself (and I have one).

I dislike it, sorry.

Megglevache · 02/05/2009 22:16

LOVE it!

Only if French-otherwise I would think he would be teased in the playground-OK if he can handle it, but you don't know in advance.
