I am expecting a DS in Aug, and we're stuck on a name which we both agree on!

I like Sebastian and Oscar, but my DH likes Reuben(which I'm not too keen on)

Any other names would be great, I would like something different but not to unusual!

ROFL FJ!

Flibbertyjibbet · 28/04/2009 23:13

Chocfridgecake do you have a recipe for your name perchance?

SuziSeis · 28/04/2009 23:14

Reuben goes nicely

MrsMerryHenry · 28/04/2009 23:16

Flibberty, you and I have the same sense of humour!

Reuben is a gorgeous name. My favourite.

Dior · 28/04/2009 23:16

Why must it 'go'? When the child grows up, he will not be paired with his sister for life. I think you should go with whatever name seems to suit him.

FWIW, my mum's family had a house noise that they always used to pretend was a ghost called Reuben!

thedolly · 28/04/2009 23:30

Rowan?

ChocFridgeCake · 29/04/2009 15:17

I do indeed have a recipe, FJ!

Passed down from my grandmother. (this is true).

Would you like it? I'll dig it out and put it on later!

Flibbertyjibbet · 29/04/2009 15:21

Go on, be a devil, hijack the thread to post a recipe

I had a recipe for something called that but it was in a recipe book for toddler food and just far too healthy for my liking.

I made it once and thought on eating a bit 'why waste valuable CHOCOLATE space with all these bits of chopped apricot?'

ChocFridgeCake · 29/04/2009 17:52

OK stand back - thread hijack (shameless I know)

This is written on a scrap of paper in my Granny's handwriting exactly as follows. It is in her recipe book between "Gingerbread - Betty's" and "Dorothy Sleightholme's Red Eyed Coconut Biscuits"

Chocolate Fridge Cake

8oz crushed digestives
4oz Marg (I use Stork)
1oz drinking chocolate
1 teaspoon cocoa
2oz sugar
1 level tablespoon syrup
Some sultanas, glace cherries optional
6oz chocolate (half milk half plain)

Put marg, sugar, syrup, drinking chocolate, sultanas, glace cherries if desired and cocoa in pan and melt together

Add crushed digestives

Grease swiss roll tin and line with baking paper

Press down mixture

Place tin in fridge.

Put choc in very small pieces on plate and place on boiled water to let melt - then spread on top of base

Put back in fridge, leave until cold then cut into pieces.

So there you have it! Take it from me it's gorgeous.

Thankyou!

Will do nicely for the MUMS at ds2's birthday teddy bears picnic in 2 weeks.

Won't be any sultanas or cherries in it though I'll just add more chocolate
