hobbgoblin · 07/04/2009 21:06

Do you pronounce it the same as you would funeral wreath or Xmas wreath?

pointydog · 07/04/2009 21:06

mommyinthemiddle · 07/04/2009 21:08

My Dh thought a friends husband was called Justin for ages and ages as his name is Dustin and he just assumed my friend had a speech impediment as he hadntheard it before
You'd get all the kids at school with 'Reith' mentioning the name at home and then 30 Christmas cards all addressed to 'Rhys'

UpInArms · 07/04/2009 21:11

custy

midnightexpress · 07/04/2009 21:15

Sounds like a surname. And the pronunciation is unfortunate.

andirobo · 07/04/2009 21:28

Sounds like poor pronunciation of Reece or of a wreath - dont like it personally, but if it fits locally, then that is ok!

BlueChampagne · 08/04/2009 20:27

as in BBC lectures? I have a cousin called Wreford.

nappyaddict · 15/04/2009 15:01

Sorry is it even a name?

Shoshe · 15/04/2009 15:21

what about Keith or even Heath?

I like it , don't listen to anyone else i think its a fab name, better then some of the names that pop up on here.

TheOldestCat · 15/04/2009 15:26

DH wanted this for a boy after Lord Reith (DH is rather a fan of the beeb), but I wasn't keen because of the Rhys/Rees connection and everyone assuming you'd pronounced it incorrectly. But if you love it, go for it.

Could you have it as a middle name?

muggglewump · 15/04/2009 15:28

I actually posted a thread (and got a teeny bit flamed) last year because I met a Rhys and Summer and their Mum had a really bad lisp and I found it funny.
That's all I can think of now, sorry.
