yama · 05/04/2009 14:25

Have always loved it.

ScorpiowithabigS · 05/04/2009 14:25

love it!

traceybath · 05/04/2009 14:25

I also like it shortened to 'bastien which sounds very sweet.

LisaLouby27 · 05/04/2009 14:27

I think it's lovely

A word of warning. DD has a friend with a younger brother called Sebastien. DD's friend persistently refers to him as Sebastard ... Girls are charming sometimes.

I like it but not keen on Seb, are there different nn you could use?

ScorpiowithabigS · 05/04/2009 14:54

Bas.

QuackQuackQuackQuack · 05/04/2009 14:55

Bas is cool

LisaLouby27 · 05/04/2009 15:05

No I really dislike this. It's like Arabella, a parody of pompous. SebAStian - I hear bassss in it too loudly.

Raphael much nicer.

ChippyMinton · 05/04/2009 15:19

No it's far too popular/posh/er...just terrible [tries to put people off using it emoticon].

traceybath · 05/04/2009 15:35

Well i like arabella too

ItsMargotBeauregarde · 05/04/2009 15:41

I'd be terrified of the mother of an Arabella and a Sebastian

It is quite a posh name but it think it slips under the radar of being poncey - it's not in the Quentin, Tarquin league.

Supercherry · 07/04/2009 18:16

I don't think it's posh, I think of Seb from Emmerdale and I can't possibly see it as posh.

However, I do like it. Sebastian- lovely.

screamingabdab · 07/04/2009 18:18

Sorry, I also see it as a bit "posh" and effete

madwomanintheattic · 07/04/2009 18:22

dh wanted to use it for ds but i don't like 'seb'

like sebastian though

although it does remind me of the (posh) sebastian with beautiful long golden ringlets that we knew, and the arguments we used to have with dd1 as to whether sebastian was a boy or a girl.

'but sebastian is a girl mummy'
'no, darling, sebastian is a boy'
'no mummy, sebastian is a girl'

always makes me smile. it just wouldn't do in this house now...

madwomanintheattic · 07/04/2009 18:23

in her defence, sebatian not only had long golden ringlets but used to wear white cotton knickerbockers, so i can see from where her difficulty stemmed lol....

madwomanintheattic · 07/04/2009 18:24

sebastian...
