Anyone else's posts now reading from the bottom up?

Anyway, I need a middle name to go with Charlotte (Lottie for short). We love Emily but it's already taken by a family member (and we may well be "stealing/copying" their boy's name!)

Very classic, English names only please. Surname is similar to Allen (so Lilly is a no-no!) Don't want it to be too much of a mouthful, probably names of one slyable (sp!) will sound best. At the moment we have Charlotte Ruby Allen but really don't love it.

My friend is Charlotte Anne, very classic and classy imo.

LavenderStar · 23/03/2009 16:49

Grotty Lotty - if anyone calls my DD that they'll be in trouble! I have to say (no offence) I'm not keen on Charlie as a nickname although I know lots of people like girls' names that can be shortened to boys' names. Also like Matilda to Matty .. which DP has just vetoed ("sounds a bit old-fashioned"). Men!!

I am not keen on Anne, Jane, Catherine, Louise etc.

Not being very helpful am I ... I do know I like classic names but Anne etc a bit too old-fashioned for my taste.

Along the lines of Emily and Jessica ... but not Emily or Jessica

charlotte Alice ???

Charlotte Esther??

LavenderStar · 23/03/2009 17:40

Hmmm .. Alice I like better than Esther but the surname starts with A.

Esther too religious.

I know my perfect name is out there somewhere ... !!!

I know a Charlotte Kate. You very rarely use a middle name so it's not that important as long as you like the name enough. I agree about the CSA though!

traceybath · 23/03/2009 17:49

charlotte elizabeth

LavenderStar · 23/03/2009 17:59

Don't like Kate (my sister is a Catherine) and Elizabeth is my middle name.

Just sent DP a few, response:

Jemima is posh and Clara boring (and sounds like a cow?s name). Elouise is a pretty name but I went out with a Helouise and she was a complete psycho.

I give up!!

Charlotte hebe
Charlotte cora

LavenderStar · 23/03/2009 18:03

I like (particularly Hebe), but don't have the guts. I would also like my children's names to all "match" and be quite classic. If we have a boy it will probably be Oliver James. Just gutted we can't have Charlotte Emily.
