I saw a name I liked on here the other day but not sure with our surname.

The name would be ROSA LEE

What do you think?

I don't think it sounds too bad, but people might mistake it for 'Rosalie' which is a name in itself.

HelpwithNameNeeded · 06/03/2009 20:11

I was also worried about Rosa Lee being the cockney slang for Tea

Do you think that would be problem

LiffeyAndFriends · 06/03/2009 20:26

No. Rosemary with Rosie or Romy for short would be nice.

I can't believe how Ruby caught on. I liked that years ago, but thought every one in my office would say "Murray".

artichokes · 06/03/2009 20:39

I wouldn't do it. It sounds like one word. I loved Rosa too but had a similar problem with our last name.

twoluvlykids · 06/03/2009 20:45

It sounds too much like one name, I think.

Could you have Rosa-Something Lee?

(Obviously not Something!)

HelpwithNameNeeded · 06/03/2009 21:56

I do really like Rosa - blast!

There's a bluegrass song Mountain RosaLee. Quite a nice one to sing, too.

HelpwithNameNeeded · 06/03/2009 22:13

Will have a look for that song degrees!

EsmeWeatherwax · 06/03/2009 22:17

Aye, its a Thin Lizzy song too. Which would put me off, but only because I loathe Thin Lizzy. If you don't mind them its fine I think...here it is

HelpwithNameNeeded · 06/03/2009 22:37

I dont think it will put me off Esme

OP posts:
EsmeWeatherwax · 06/03/2009 22:48

Good, its a lovely name!

HelpwithNameNeeded · 06/03/2009 23:04

DH still says its cruel to call her Rosa Lee, but I am ignoring him

OP posts:
HelpwithNameNeeded · 07/03/2009 16:50

Any other thoughts

OP posts:
mazzystartled · 07/03/2009 16:52

It's Rosie Lee for tea

Don't see the problem myself

I like it

HelpwithNameNeeded · 07/03/2009 16:58

So its not Rosa Lee, thats good to know

OP posts:
Leannabanana · 07/03/2009 17:23

i think it needs a middle name to break it up perhaps like

Rosa Jane Lee or Rosa Katy Lee

that will stop it sounding like one joined up name.....

HelpwithNameNeeded · 07/03/2009 17:27

That is a good idea Leanna but when you go the doctors/class register etc they dont use your middle name dh still not convinced

OP posts:
wotulookinat · 07/03/2009 17:31

What about double-barrelling the first name? Rosa-Jane Lee for example.

HelpwithNameNeeded · 07/03/2009 17:33

I would have to find a name that I liked as much as Rosa. Not keen on Jane

OP posts:
wotulookinat · 07/03/2009 17:37

Me neither, but it was the first name that came to mind

HelpwithNameNeeded · 07/03/2009 17:41

Any other suggestions? Maybe I should start another thread?

OP posts:
cece · 07/03/2009 17:44

I don't think I would, I agree with your DH.

Leannabanana · 07/03/2009 18:02

Or use Rosabelle Lee and just call her Rosa for short. that'd get aroung the doctors stumbling block... Rosabelle is very pretty...x

HelpwithNameNeeded · 07/03/2009 18:31

DH not keen on Rosabelle
