I like it. It's a bit different without being wacky.

Wolfblass · 27/02/2009 12:26

Love Darcey for a girl!!!!

Nancy66 · 27/02/2009 13:10

it's become very popular in the last couple of years. I think it's a wee bit chav...sorry!

frazzledoldbag · 27/02/2009 13:53

I know four Darcey / Darcy's ( all girls and all under the age of 3). Makes me think it's heading toward huge popularity. Although you might not mind that?
And personally I'm not really very keen on it as a name. But then that's just me!

princessmel · 27/02/2009 13:55

I do know a lot of Darcy's. It's pretty but used a lot imo.

Poppyscock · 28/02/2009 09:46

Hmmm I wonder how many people consider it 'chavvy'

Poppyscock · 28/02/2009 10:04

Do you get a good response to the name studentmum1?

studentmum1 · 28/02/2009 10:12

yes, she's only 10 months old so when people ask her name they love how original it is. most people say oh wow how lovely, i've only had one guy who said huh thats a boys name! but i have dd1 who also has a "boys" name.

Poppyscock · 28/02/2009 10:14

Thats good to know, I do really like it

The boy Darcey I know is a very sporty young man, popular with the girls etc and the name is really "cool" on him somehow.

The girl is younger and is a lovely little girl, independent and indivdual without being a madam, and somehow that name really "matches" her too!

i think it's great, can you tell?!

2HotCrossBunsAnd1InTheOven · 28/02/2009 17:09

Oooh watching this thread with interest. Am expecting DC3 and if it's a girl I want to call her Darcy/Darcey (not sure which spelling!). I have 2 DSs and it's ben on list both times! Maybe third time lucky...

Other girls' name in the running is Lauren.

janeite · 28/02/2009 17:16

I do think it's getting quite "common", which is a shame as I actually really like it. If I ever (highly unlikely) have a dd3 she will be Marianne Darcy.

Poppyscock · 28/02/2009 17:20

Common or popular janeite?

janeite · 28/02/2009 17:25

Not sure - hence the inverted commas! I still like it a lot though: spot the Jane Austen fan!

ilovepeppapig · 28/02/2009 17:27

like darcey. There are two at ds school out of 570 pupils.

MrsMattie · 28/02/2009 18:11

I'm usually totally anti this sort of name, but I do quite like it.

I know a little girl called Darcy and she is gorgeous, so maybe it's coloured my opinion

Poppyscock · 28/02/2009 18:12

So it seems to be a name the majority like

lunamoon2 · 01/03/2009 11:02

Love it.
Only know one Darcey, go for it!

CrushWithEyeliner · 01/03/2009 11:26

like it a lot - I teach a very smart cookie called D'arcy

Fimbo · 01/03/2009 11:31

I am with Nailpolish re KG and Darcey Drapper just does not flow at all.

It's not a name I would pick but I don't dislike it.

Buda · 01/03/2009 11:36

I like it a lot. Had it on my list for a DD but DH doesn't like it. And I had a DS instead!

Poppyscock · 01/03/2009 16:57

Who is Darcey drapper?
